CHAP. XXV.

1 MOreover, David and the captains of the host a 1.1 separated b 1.2 to the service of the sons of * 1.3 Asaph, and of * 1.4 Heman, and of * 1.5 Je∣duthun c 1.6, who should prophecy d 1.7 with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals; and the number of the workmen e 1.8, according to their service, was;

2 Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and ‖ 1.9 Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph f 1.10, which prophesied † 1.11 according to the order of the king g 1.12.

3 Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun h 1.13; Ge∣daliah, and ‖ 1.14 Zeri, and Jeshajah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, ‖ 1.15 six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp to give thanks and to praise the LORD.

4 Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mat∣taniah, ‖ 1.16 Uzziel, ‖ 1.17 Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hana∣niah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti and Romamti∣ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Ma∣hazioth.

5 All these were the sons of Heman the kings seer i 1.18 in the ‖ 1.19 words of God k 1.20, to lift up the horn l 1.21. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons, and three daughters.

6 All these were under the hands m 1.22 of their fa∣ther, •…•…or song in the house of God, with cymbals, psalteries and harps, for the service of the house of God, † 1.23 according to the kings order, to Asaph, Je∣duthun, and Heman n 1.24.

7 So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were cunning o 1.25, was two hundred four∣score and eight p 1.26.

8 And they cast lots, ward against ward q 1.27, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scho∣lar r 1.28.

9 Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Jo∣seph s 1.29, the second to Gedaliah, who t 1.30 with his brethren and his sons were twelve.

10 The third to Zaccur, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve:

11 The fourth to Izri, he, his sons and his bre∣thren were twelve.

12 The fifth to Nethaniah, he, his sons and his brethren were twelve:

13 The sixth to Bukkiah, he, his sons and his brethren were twelve:

14 The seventh to Jesharelah, he, his sons and his brethren were twelve.

15 The eighth to Jeshajah, he, his sons and his brethren were twelve.

16 The ninth to Mattaniah, he, his sons and his brethren were twelve.
