An Excellent purge.

TAke three of foure Pippins, pare and slice them in thin slices, then take a stick of Licorish and scrape and slice it in thin slices also, then put them in a pint of Conduit water, and boyle them till all the strength of the Lickorish and Apples be boyled out, then take them out, and set the water or liquor away in a clean pann or pot till it be cold, then at night take foure drams of your best Sena and pick it, and two drams of your best Rubarb, and slice it, and halfe a dram of O••le of Tar∣tar well prepared, and put them in the Liquor, then stir it well and so set it away till the morning then strain it and drink it, to be sure keep your selfe very warme.
