IV. Wee ought not to refuse the Rubrick or Common-Prayer, because it is imposed by Authority from man, but therefore to use it. (Book 4)

SOme pretend that they cannot in conscience use the Com∣mon-Prayer, because it is imposed by a Command, which is a very bad Principle, for if Authority command that which is not sin, it is sin not to obey that which is commanded, therefore saith the Apostle, 1 Pet. 2. 13. Submit your selves to every Ordinance of man for the Lords sake.
