slide therefore shall not I. Examine me, and do me prove; try heart and reins, O God. For thy love is before mine eyes,Line 3 thy truths paths I have trod
With persons vain I have not sat,Line 4 nor with dissemblers gone. Th'assembly of ill men I hate:Line 5 to sit with such I shun. Mine hands in innocence, O Lord,Line 6 I'le wash and purify: So to thine holy altar go and compasse it will I.
That I, with voice of thanksgiving,Line 7 may publish and declare, And tell of all thy mighty works, that great and wondrous are. The habitation of thy house,Line 8 Lord, I have loved well, Yea, in that place I do delight, where doth thine honour dwell.
With sinners gather not my soul,Line 9 and such as bloud would spill: Whose hands mischievous plots, right handLine 10 corrupting bribes do fill. But as for me, I will walk onLine 11 in mine integritie: Do thou redeem me, and, O Lord, be mercifull to me.
