PSAL. XXV. A Psalm of David.

TO thee I lift my soul: O Lord, I trust in thee,Line 2 My God, let me not be asham'd, nor foes triumph ov'r me. Let none that wait on theeLine 3 be put to shame at all; But those that without cause transgresse let shame upon them fall.
Shew me thy wayes, O Lord;Line 4 thy paths O teach thou me. And do thou lead me in thy truth,Line 5 therein my teacher be: For thou art God that do'st to me salvation send, And I upon thee, all the day expecting, do attend.
Thy tender mercies, Lord,Line 6 I pray thee to remember, And loving kindnesses: for they have been of old for ever. My sins and faults of youthLine 7 do thou, O Lord, forget: After thy mercy think on me, and for thy goodnesse great.

God good and upright is:Line 8 the way hee'l sinners show. The meek in judgement he will guide,Line 9 and make his path to know. The whole paths of the LordLine 10 are truth and mercy sure To those that do his covenant keep, and testimonies pure.
Now for thine own Names sake,Line 11 O Lord, I thee intreat To pardon mine iniquitie: for it is very great. What man is he that fearsLine 12 the Lord, and doth him serve? Him shall he teach the way that he shall choose and still observe.
His soul shall dwell at ease;Line 13 and his posteritie Shall flourish still, and of the earth inheritours shall be. With those that fear him, isLine 14 the secret of the Lord: The knowledge of his covenant he will to them afford.
Mine eyes upon the LordLine 15 continually are set: For it is he that shall bring forth my feet out of the net. Turn unto me thy face,Line 16 and to me mercy show: Because that I am desolate, and am brought very low.

My hearts griefs are increas'd:Line 17 me from distresse relieve. See mine affliction and my pain,Line 18 and all my sins forgive. Consider thou my foes,Line 19 because they many are, And it a cruell hatred is, which they against me beare.
O do thou keep my soul,Line 20 do thou deliver me: And let me never be asham'd, because I trust in thee. Let uprightnesse and truthLine 21 keep me, who thee attend. Redemption, Lord, to IsraelLine 22 from all his troubles send.

Another of the same.

TO thee I lift my soul, O Lord: My God, I trust in thee:Line 2 Let me not be asham'd; let not my foes triumph ov'r me. Yea, let thou none ashamed beLine 3 that do on thee attend; Ashamed let them be, O Lord, who without cause offend.
Thy wayes, Lord, shew; teach me thy paths.Line 4 Lead me in truth, teach me:Line 5 For of my safetie thou art God, all day I wait on thee. Thy mercies, that most tender are,Line 6 do thou, O Lord, remember,

And loving kindnesses: for they have been of old for ever.
Let not the errours of my youth,Line 7 nor sins remembred be: In mercy, for thy goodnesse sake, O Lord, remember me. The Lord is good and gracious,Line 8 He upright is also: He therefore sinners will instruct: in wayes that they should go.
The meek and lowly he will guideLine 9 in judgement just alway: To meek and poor afflicted ones hee'l clearly teach his way. The whole paths of the Lord our GodLine 10 are truth and mercy sure, To such as keep his covenant. and testimonies pure.
Now for thine own Names sake, O Lord,Line 11 I humbly thee intreat To pardon mine iniquitie: for it is very great. What man fears God? him shall he teachLine 12 the way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease, his seedLine 13 the earth, as heirs, shall use.
The secret of the Lord is withLine 14 such as do fear his Name, And he his holy covenant will manifest to them. Line 15

Towards the Lord my waiting eyesLine 15 continually are set: For he it is that shall bring forth my feet out of the net.
O turn thee unto me, O God,Line 16 have mercy me upon: Because I solitary am, and in affliction. Enlarg'd the griefs are of my heart:Line 17 me from distresse relieve. See mine affliction, and my pain,Line 18 and all my sins forgive.
Consider thou mine enemies,Line 19 because they many are; And it a cruell hatred is, which they against me beare. O do thou keep my soul, O God,Line 20 do thou deliver me: Let me not be asham'd, for I do put my trust in thee.
O let integritie and truthLine 21 keep me, who thee attend. Redemption, Lord, to IsraelLine 22 from all his troubles send,
