PSAL. XXIII. A Psalm of David. (Book 23)

THe Lord's my shepherd, I'le not want. He makes me down to lyLine 2 In pastures green: he leadeth me the quiet waters by. My soul he doth restore again;Line 3 and me to walk doth make Into the paths of righteousnesse, ev'n for his own Names sake.
Yea, though I walk in deaths dark vale,Line 4 yet will I fear none ill: For thou art with me, and thy rod and staff me comfort still. My table thou hast furnishedLine 5 in presence of my foes: My head thou dost with oyl anoint, and my cup overflowes.
Goodnesse and mercy all my lifeLine 8 shall surely follow me: And in Gods house for evermore my dwelling place shall be.
