PSAL. XIX. To the chief musician, A Psalm of David. (Book 19)
THe heav'ns Gods glory do declare:
the skyes his hand-works preach.
Day utters speech to day, and nightLine 2
to night doth knowledge teach.
There is no speech nor tongue, to whichLine 3
their voice doth not extend.
Their line is gone through all the earth,Line 4
their words to the worlds end.
In them he set the sun a tent,
Who bride-groom-like forth goesLine 5
From's chamber, as a strong man doth,
to run his race, rejoyce.
From heav'ns end is his going forth,Line 6
circling to th'end again:
And there is nothing from his heat
that hidden doth remain.
Gods Law is perfect, and convertsLine 7
the soul in sin that lyes:
Gods testimony is most sure,
and makes the simple wise.
The statutes of the Lord are right,Line 8
and do rejoyce the heart:
The Lords command is pure, and doth
light to the eyes impart.
Unspotted is the fear of God,Line 9
and doth endure for ever:
The judgements of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.
