PSAL. CXLIII. A Psalm of David.

LOrd, hear my pray'r, attend my suits and in thy faithfulnesse Give thou an answer unto me, and in thy righteousnesse. Thy servant also bring thou notLine 2 in judgement to be try'd; Because no living man can be in thy sight justify'd,

For th'enemy hath pursu'd my soul,Line 3 my life to ground down tread: In darknesse he hath made me dwell, as who have long been dead. My sprit is therefore overwhelm'dLine 4 in me, perplexedly; VVithin me is my very heart amazed wondrously.

I call to minde the dayes of old,Line 5 to meditate I use On all thy works; upon the deeds I, of thy hands, do muse. My hands to thee I stretch: my soulLine 6 thirsts, as dry land, for thee. Haste, Lord, to hear, my spirit fails,Line 7 hide not thy face from me:

Lest like to them I do become, that go down to the dust. At morn let me thy kindnesse hear,Line 8 for in thee do I trust. Teach me the way that I should walk, I lift my soul to thee. Lord, free me from my foes, I flyLine 9 to thee, to cover me.

Because thou art my God, to doLine 10 thy will do me instruct: Thy sp'rit is good, me to the land of uprightnesse conduct. Revive and quicken me, O Lord,Line 11 ev'n for thine own Names sake: And do thou, for thy righteousnesse, my soul from trouble take.

And of thy mercy slay my foes;Line 12 let all destroyed be That do afflict my soul, for I a servant am to thee.
