PAULUS SILENTIARIUS.

PAulus Cyrus Florus, Chief of the Silentiarii of the Palace, flourish'd towards the middle of the sixth Age. He made a long Poem containing a Description of the Temple of Sancta Sophia * 1.1 which is printed at the end of the History of Cinnamus. [He wrote also many other excellent Poems, says Dr. Cave out of Agathias De Rebus Justiniani, Hist. Lit. p. 416.]
