What the Disease called the Scurvy is.
THE Scurvy is a disease of the spleen, whereby it is sometimes wholly stopped, sometimes onely distem∣pered, sometimes also appearing with hard Scyrros, swellings, beginning and shewing themselves in di∣vers parts of the body, but more particularly on the thighes and leggs, causing them to seem of a Leady colour, the sharpnesse of which infectious humor oft offendeth the mouth and gummes of the diseased, and causeth the flesh thereof to rot and stink.
