IAmes Marques of Montrosse having at first sided with the Covenanters in Scotland, very actiuely bestowed his too too Succesful endeavors in their behalfe: For at that time they Preten∣ded to nothing else, but the preservation of Reli∣gion, the Honour and Dignity of the King, the La∣wes of the Land, and the freedome of that ancient Realme, so happily, so valiantly defended in time of yore from such powerful enemies, as the Romans, Sax∣ons, Danes, Normans, by the sweat and bloud, with the lives and estates of their Ancestours. And the tales they made they never wanted fitting instruments to tell and spread among the people.
