1. St. David's ol. Menevia.
HEre was the Seat of an Arch-bishop, who was Primate of Wales, from the time of St. David, who translated it hither from Caerleon, about A. D. 540. till S. Sampson about A. D. 930. carried the Pall with him to Dole in Britanny. Notwithstanding the Bishops of this See had Archiepiscopal power till the time of King Henry I. in whose reign Bernard Bishop of St. David's made profession of his subjection to the Arch-bishop of Canterbury as his Metropolitan.

A Benedictine Priory subordinate to S. Martin at Tours, to which it was given by Robert Fitz-Martin A. D. 1126. It was endowed at the Sup∣pression with 87l. 8s. 6d. per an. Dugd. 68l. 1s. 6d. Speed.

An Alien-Priory dedicated to St. Mary and St. Budoc, and Cell to the Abby of St. Martin at
