A Priory of Benedictines founded by Robert Malet (temp. Will. Conq.) and commended to the Patronage of St. Peter. It was a Cell to Bernay in Normandy, but Rich. II. made it Prioratus in∣digena, and so it continued till the Suppression, at which time it was rated at 161l. 2s. 3d. per an. Dugd. 184l. 9s. 7d. ob. Speed.
