A Priory of Black Canons founded by Hugh Beauchamp, (temp. Will. Conq.) dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It's annual value at the Sup∣pression, was 71l. 13s. 9d. ob. according to Dug∣dale; 81l. 13s. 5d. ob. Speed.

Here was a Priory for Nuns of the Order of St. Benedict, built by Iudith wife to Waltheof Earl of Huntingdon, to the honour of the Holy Trinity, St. Mary, and St. Helen, (temp. Will. Conq.) It was worth at the Dissolution 284l. 12s. 11d. ob. q. Dugd. 325l. 2s. 1d. ob. q. Speed.
