This Monastery is falsly placed in Hertfordshire by Mr. Speed, and the Monasticon saith 'tis in Lincolnshire: but that famous Antiquary Mr. Burton in his description of this County, tells us, that tho' the Castle is in Lincolnshire, yet the Priory is in this County.
