the retrenching the Popes exorbitant Power
by the name of Schism, must by parity of
reason call the casting off an Usurper Re∣bellion.
But certainly those who consider
the mighty advantages and priviledges of
the Clergy in the Church of Rome, can never
reasonably suspect any of that Order
should hope to better themselves by the
Reformation. And if we judge of Mens
actings by their Interest, one of the most
surprising considerations at this day is, that
the Clergy should be against, and Princes for
the Church of Rome.0
