How every good Christian is to order his life. [ 1157]
IT is said of the Israelites in their Travells through the Wildernesse,* 1.1 that they wandred like Pilgrims without house or home, they fought like Soul∣diers the battels of the Lord, and they called upon the Name of the Lord their God, who heard them in the midst of their distresse: And thus it is that every good Christian is to order his life, as a Pilgrim not seeking high things for himself,* 1.2 but having food and rayment therewith to rest contented; As a Christian Souldier not to be ashamed to confesse the Faith of Christ crucified, but to fight man∣fully under his banner against the three Arch-enemies of Mankind, the World, the Flesh, and the Devill▪ Lastly, as the true Servant of God to tread often upon the threshold of his Sanctuary, to frequent his Ordinances,* 1.3 to be alwaies in such a frame of Spirit as to blesse, and praise, and magnifie, and speak good of his holy Name.
