How Manifold are thy Works O Lord? In Wisdom hast thou made them all.
IN these Words are two Clauses, in the first whereof the Psalmist admires the Multitude of God's works, How Ma∣nifold are thy Works O Lord? In the second he celebrates his Wisdom in the cre∣ation of them; In Wisdom hast thou made them all.
Of the first of these I shall say little, on∣ly briefly run over the Works of this visible world, and give some guess at the Number of them. Whence it will appear, that upon this account they well deserve Ad∣miration, the Number of them being un∣investigable by us; and so affording us a demonstrative Proof of the unlimited ex∣tent of the Creators Skill, and the foecun∣dity of his Wisdom and Power. That the Number of corporeal Creatures is unmeasu∣rably great, and known only to the Crea∣tor himself, may thus probably be collected: First of all, The Number of fixt Stars is on all hands acknowledged to be next to infi∣nite; Secondly, Every fixt Star in the now
