CHAP. XII.

1 AND Miriam and Aaron a 1.1 spake against Moses, because of the ‖ 1.2 Ethiopian wo∣man b 1.3, whom he had married, for * 1.4 he had † 1.5 married an Ethiopian woman.

2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spo∣ken only by Moses? * 1.6 hath he not spoken also by us c 1.7? And the LORD heard it d 1.8.

3 (Now the man Moses was very meek e 1.9, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

4 And the LORD spake suddenly f 1.10 unto Mo∣ses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out g 1.11 ye three unto the tabernacle of the con∣gregation, and they three came out,

5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the taberna∣cle h 1.12, and called Aaron and Miriam, and they both came forth.

6 And he said, Hear now my words: if there be a prophet among you i 1.13, I the LORD will make my self known unto him in a vision k 1.14, and will speak unto him in a dream l 1.15:

7 My servant Moses is not so, * 1.16 who is faith∣ful in all mine house m 1.17.

8 With him will I speak * 1.18 mouth to mouth n 1.19, even apparently o 1.20, and not in dark speeches p 1.21, and the similitude of the LORD q 1.22 shall he be∣hold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant r 1.23 Moses?

9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them, and he departed s 1.24.

10 And the cloud departed from off the taber∣nacle t 1.25, and * 1.26 behold, Miriam became leprous u 1.27, white as snow x 1.28: and Aaron looked upon Miri∣am, and behold, she was leprous.

11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us y 1.29 wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sin∣ned.

12 Let her not be as one dead z 1.30, of whom the flesh is half consumed, when he cometh out of his mothers womb a 1.31.

13 And Moses cryed unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.

14 And the LORD said unto Moses, * 1.32 If her father had but spit in her face b 1.33, should she not be ashamed c 1.34 seven dayes? let her be * 1.35 shut out from the camp seven dayes d 1.36, and after that let her be received in again.

15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp se∣ven dayes: and the people journeyed not, till Miriam was brought in again e 1.37.

16 And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth f 1.38, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran g 1.39.
