CHAP. IX.

1 AND it came to pass on the eighth day a 1.1, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel b 1.2.

2 And he said unto Aaron, * 1.3 Take thee a young calf c 1.4 for a sin-offering d 1.5, and a ram for a burnt-offering without blemish, and offer them before the LORD.

3 And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, * 1.6 Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin-offering e 1.7 and a calf, and a lamb, both of the first year without blemish for a burnt-offering.

4 Also a bullock, and a ram, for peace-offerings to sacrifice before the LORD, and a meat-offering mingled with oyl: for * 1.8 to day the LORD will appear f 1.9 unto you.

5 And they brought that which Moses com∣manded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood be∣fore the LORD g 1.10.

6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD h 1.11 shall appear unto you.

7 And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the al∣tar and * 1.12 offer i 1.13 thy sin-offering and thy burnt-offering,

and make an atonement for thy self, and for the people k 1.14: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them, as the LORD commanded.

8 Aaron therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin-offering which was for him∣self.

9 And the sons of Aaron brought the blood un∣to him, and he dipt his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar l 1.15, and poure•…•… out the blood at the bottom of the altar.

10 But the fat and the kidneys, and the cawle above the liver of the sin-offering he burnt m 1.16 upon the altar, * 1.17 as the LORD commanded Moses.

11 And * 1.18 the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire, without the camp.

12 And he slew the burnt-offering, and Aarons sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprin∣kled round about upon the altar.

13 And they presented the burnt-offering un∣to him, with the pieces thereof and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar.

14 And he did wash the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt-offering on the altar.

15 And he brought the peoples offering n 1.19, and took the goat which was the sin-offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first o 1.20.

16 And he brought the burnt-offering p 1.21, and offered it * 1.22 according to the ‖ 1.23 manner.

17 And he brought the * 1.24 meat-offering q 1.25, and † 1.26 took an handful thereof, and burnt it upon the altar * 1.27 besides the burnt-sacrifice of the morn∣ing r 1.28

18 He slew also the bullock and the ram, for * 1.29 a sacrifice of peace-offerings, which was for the people: and Aarons sons presented unto him the blood (which he sprinkled upon the altar round about.)

19 And the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth the inwards s 1.30, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver,

20 And they put the fat upon the breasts t 1.31, and he burnt the fat upon the altar.

21 And the brests, and the right shoulder, Aaron waved for a * 1.32 wave-offering before the LORD, as Moses commanded.

22 And Aaron lift up his hand u 1.33 towards the people, and blessed them x 1.34, and came down y 1.35 from offering of the sin-offering and the burnt-of∣fering, and peace-offerings.

23 And Moses z 1.36 and Aaron went into the ta∣bernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people a 1.37: and the glory of the LORD b 1.38 appeared unto all the people.

24 And * 1.39 there came a fire c 1.40 out from before the LORD d 1.41, and consumed upon the altar, the burnt-offering, and the fat: which when all the people saw they shouted e 1.42, and fell on their faces.
