2 For behold, the darkness x 1.8 shall cover the earth y 1.9, and gross z 1.10 darkness the people: but the LORD a 1.11 shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen b 1.12 upon thee.

3 And the * 1.13 Gentiles shall come c 1.14 to thy light, and d 1.15 kings e 1.16 to the brightness of thy rising.

4 * 1.17 Lift up thine eyes round about f 1.18 and see; all they gather themselves together g 1.19, they come to thee, thy sons h 1.20 shall come from far, and thy daugh∣ters shall be nursed at thy side.

5 Then shalt thou see i 1.21, and ‖ 1.22 flow k 1.23, together, and thine heart shall fear l 1.24, and be enlarged m 1.25, be∣cause the abundance of the sea n 1.26 shall be converted unto thee o 1.27, the ‖ 1.28 forces p 1.29 of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

6 The multitude of camels q shall cover thee: the dromedaries r 1.30 of Midian and Ephah s 1.31: all they from Sheba t 1.32 shall come: they shall bring ‖ 1.33 * 1.34 gold and incense u 1.35, and they shall shew forth the praises x 1.36 of the LORD. * 1.37

7 All the flocks of Kedar y 1.38 shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams z 1.39 of Nebajoth a 1.40 shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with accep∣tance b 1.41 on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory c 1.42.

8 Who d 1.43 are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

9 Surely the isles f 1.44 shall wait for me, and the ships g 1.45 of Tarshish h 1.46 first i 1.47, * 1.48 to bring thy sons k 1.49 from far l 1.50, their m 1.51 silver and their gold with them, unto the name n 1.52 of the LORD thy God: and to the holy One of Israel because he hath glorified thee o 1.53.

10 And the sons of strangers p 1.54 shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister q 1.55 unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy r 1.56 on thee.

11 Therefore s 1.57 thy gates * 1.58 shall be open continu∣ally, they shall not be shut day nor night, that men may bring unto thee the ‖ 1.59 forces t 1.60 of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought u 1.61.

12 For * 1.62 the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee x 1.63 shall perish: yea these nations shall be utterly wasted z 1.64. * 1.65

13 * 1.66 The glory a 1.67 of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir-tree, the pine-tree and the box toge∣ther, to beautify b 1.68 the place of my sanctuary c 1.69, and I will make the place of my feet d 1.70 glorious.

14 The sons e 1.71 also of them that afflicted thee, shall * 1.72 come bending f 1.73 unto thee, and all they that despise thee shall * 1.74 bow themselves down at the soles g 1.75 of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The ci∣ty h 1.76 of the LORD, the Zion of the holy One of Israel.

15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken i 1.77 and ha∣ted k 1.78, so that no man went through thee l 1.79, I will make thee an eternal excellency m 1.80, a joy of many generations n 1.81.

16 * 1.82 Thou shalt also suck o 1.83 the milk of the Gen∣tiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings, and thou shalt know p 1.84 that * 1.85 I the LORD am thy saviour and thy redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob q 1.86.

17 For brass I will bring gold r 1.87, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace s 1.88, and thine exactours righteousness t 1.89.

18 Violence u 1.90 shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders x 1.91: but thou shalt call * 1.92 thy walls salvation y 1.93, and thy gates praise z 1.94.

19 * 1.95 The sun shall be no more thy light a 1.96 by day, neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light b 1.97, and * 1.98 thy God thy glo∣ry c 1.99.

20 Thy sun shall no more go down, neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended d 1.100.

21 Thy people also shall be all e 1.101 righteous f 1.102: they shall inherit the land for ever g 1.103, the * 1.104 branch of my planting h 1.105, * 1.106 the work of my hands, that I may be glorified i 1.107.

22 A little one shall become a thousand k 1.108, and a small one a strong nation l 1.109: I the LORD will hasten it in his time m 1.110.
