CHAP. XXXV.

1. THe wilderness and the † 1.1 solitary place a 1.2 shall * 1.3 be glad for them b 1.4, and the desert shall rejoyce, and blossom as the rose.

2. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoyce even with joy and singing; the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon c 1.5; they d 1.6 shall see the glory of the LORD e 1.7, and the excellency of our God.

3. * 1.8 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and con∣firm the feeble knees f 1.9.

4. Say to them that are of a † 1.10 fearful heart, Be strong, fear not▪ behold, your God will come g 1.11 with vengeance h 1.12, even God with a recompence, he will come and save you.

5. Then * 1.13 the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and * 1.14 the ears of the deaf shall be un∣stopped i 1.15.

6. Then shall the * 1.16 lame man leap k 1.17 as an hart, and the * 1.18 tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall * 1.19 waters break out, and streams in the desert l 1.20.

7. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of waters: in the habitation of Dragons where each lay, shall be ‖ 1.21 grass with reeds and rushes m 1.22.

8 And an high-way shall be there, and a way n 1.23, and it shall be called the way of holiness o 1.24, * 1.25 the unclean shall not pass over it p 1.26, ‖ 1.27 but it shall be for those q 1.28: the way-faring men, though fools, shall not err therein r 1.29.

9. No lion shall be there, nor any † 1.30 ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there s 1.31, but the redeemed shall walk there.

10. And the * 1.32 ransomed of the LORD t 1.33 shall return and come to Zion u 1.34 with songs, and everlasting joy upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and * 1.35 sorrow and sigh∣ing shall flee away x 1.36.
