CHAP. XXI.
1 THe kings heart a 1.1 is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water b 1.2, he turneth it c 1.3 whi∣thersoever he will d 1.4.
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD pondereth the hearts e 1.5.
3 * 1.6 To do justice and judgment f 1.7, is more accepta∣ble to the LORD than sacrifice g 1.8.
4 * 1.9 † 1.10 An high look h 1.11, and a proud heart i 1.12, and ‖ 1.13 the plowing k 1.14 of the wicked, is sin l 1.15.
5 * 1.16 The thoughts of the diligent m 1.17 tend onely to plenteousness, but of every one that is hasty n 1.18, onely to want o 1.19.
6 * 1.20 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue p 1.21 is a vanity tossed to and fro q 1.22 of them that seek death r 1.23.
7 The robbery of the wicked shall † 1.24 destroy them s 1.25, because they refuse to do judgment t 1.26.
8 The way u 1.27 of man x 1.28 is froward and strange y 1.29▪ but as for the pure, his work is right z 1.30.
9 * 1.31 It is better to dwell a 1.32 in a corner of the house, top b 1.33, than with † 1.34 a brawling woman in a † 1.35 wide house c 1.36.
10 * 1.37 The soul of the wicked desireth evil d 1.38: his neighbour † 1.39 findeth no favour in his eyes e 1.40.
