CHAP. XXIV.

1 AND he said unto Moses, Come up a 1.1 un∣to the LORD, thou and Aaron, Na∣dab and Abihu b 1.2, and seventy of the El∣ders of Israel c 1.3: and worship ye afar off d 1.4.

2 And Moses alone e 1.5 shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh, neither shall the people go up with him f 1.6.

3 And Moses came g 1.7 and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, * 1.8 All the words, which the LORD hath said, will we do h 1.9.

4 And Moses wrote i 1.10 all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar k 1.11 under the hill, and twelve pil∣lars l 1.12, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

5 And he sent young men m 1.13 of the children of Israel, which offered burnt-offerings, and sa∣crificed peace-offerings of oxen n 1.14 unto the LORD.

6 And Moses took half of the bloud o 1.15, and put it in basons; and half of the bloud he sprinkled on the altar ‖ 1.16.

7 And he took the book of the covenant p 1.17, and read in the audience of the people q 1.18, and they said * 1.19 All that the LORD hath said, will we do, and be obedient.

8 And Moses took the bloud r 1.20, and sprinkled it on the people s 1.21, and said, Behold * 1.22, the bloud of the covenant t 1.23, which the LORD hath made with you, concerning all these words.

9 Then went up u 1.24 Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the Elders of Israel.

10 And they saw the God of Israel x 1.25 and there was under his feet, as it were a paved work * 1.26 of a Saphire stone y 1.27, and, as it were the body of heaven in his clearness z 1.28.

11 And upon the nobles a 1.29 of the children of Israel he laid not his hand b 1.30: also they saw God, and did eat and drink c 1.31.

12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be d 1.32 there: and I will give thee * 1.33 tables of stone e 1.34, and a law and commandments f 1.35, which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

13 And Moses rose up, and his minister Jo∣shua g 1.36: and Moses went up into the mount of God.

14 And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us h 1.37, untill we come again unto you: and be∣hold, Aaron and Hur i 1.38 are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.

15 And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.

16 And * 1.39 the glory of the LORD k 1.40 abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered l 1.41 it six dayes: and the seventh day m 1.42 he called unto Mo∣ses out of the midst of the cloud.

17 And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like * 1.43 devouring fire n 1.44 on the top of the mount, in the eyes of the children of Israel.

18 And Moses went up into the midst of the cloud o 1.45, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty dayes and forty nights p 1.46.
