PSAL. XXVIII.
This Psalm seems to be made upon the same Occasion with the former, and is mixed, as many others of his Psalms are, of Hopes and Fears, of Prayers and Praises.
A Psalm of David.
1. UNto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock, be not silent a 1.1 † 1.2 to me: * 1.3 lest if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit b 1.4.
2. Hear the voyce of my supplications, when I cry unto thee: when I lift up my hands ‖ 1.5 to∣wards thy holy oracle c 1.6.
3. Draw me not away with the wicked d 1.7, and with the workers of iniquity: * 1.8 which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their heart e 1.9.
4. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours f 1.10: give them after the work of their hands, ren∣der to them their desert.
5. Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands g 1.11, he shall destroy them, and not build them up h 1.12.
6. Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard i 1.13 the voyce of my supplications.
7. The LORD is my strength and my shield, my heart trusted in him, and I am help∣ed: therefore my heart greatly rejoyceth, and with my song will I praise him.
8. The LORD is ‖ 1.14 their strength k 1.15, and he is the † 1.16 saving strength l of his anointed m 1.17. * 1.18
9. Save thy people, and bless thine inheri∣tance n 1.19: ‖ 1.20 feed them also, and lift them up o 1.21 for ever.
