PSAL. CXXI.
A song of degrees.
The matter of this Psalm sufficiently sheweth, that the Psalmist was conflicting with great difficulties and oppositions, and looking hither and thither for help, as men in such cases use to do, and then turning his eyes to God and his Pro∣vidence, and encouraging himself by Gods promises made to his people.
1 ‖ 1.1 I Will lift up mine eyes unto the * 1.2 hills a 1.3 from whence cometh b 1.4 my help.
2 * 1.5 My help cometh from the LORD c 1.6 which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot d 1.7 to be moved e 1.8: he that keepeth thee will not slumber f 1.9.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel, shall nei∣ther slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade g 1.10 upon thy right hand h 1.11.
6 The sun shall not smite thee i 1.12 by day, nor the moon k 1.13 by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out, and thy coming in l 1.14, from this time forth; and even for evermore.
