CHAP. XXV.

1 THena 1.1 again Abraham tookb 1.2 a wifec 1.3, and her name was Keturahd 1.4.

2 And she bare hime 1.5 Zimran, and Jokshan and Medanf 1.6, and Midiang 1.7, and Ishbak, and Shuahh 1.8.

3* 1.9 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letu∣shim, and Leummim.

4 And the sons of Midian, Ephahi 1.10, and E∣pherk 1.11, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah: all these were the Children of Keturah.

5 And Abraham gavel 1.12 all that he hadm 1.13 un∣to Isaac.

6 But unto the sons of the concubinesn 1.14 which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his sono 1.15, (while he yet lived) east-ward unto the east-countreyp 1.16.

7 And these are the days of the years of Abra∣hams life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.

8 Then Abraham gave up the ghostq 1.17, and di∣ed in a goodr 1.18 old age, an old man, and full of‖ 1.19 yearss 1.20, and was gathered to his peoplet 1.21.

9 And his sons, Isaac and Ishmaelu 1.22 buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron, the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre.

10* 1.23 The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

11 And it came to pass after the death of Abra∣ham, that God blessed his son Isaac, and Isaac dwelt by the* 1.24 well Lahai-roi.

12 Now these are▪ the generations of Ishmaelx 1.25 Abrahams son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sa∣rahs handmaid, bare unto Abraham.

13 And* 1.26 these are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their names, according to their gene∣rations, the first-born of Ishmael, Nebajothy 1.27, and Kedarz 1.28, and Adbeel, and Mibsam.

14 And Mishma, and Dumaha 1.29, and Massa,

15‖ 1.30 Hadar and Temab 1.31, Jeturc 1.32, Naphish, and Kedemah.

16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names by their towns, and by their castles* 1.33, twelve princes according to their nations.

17 And these are the years of the life of Ish∣mael: an hundred and thirty and seven years, and he gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathe∣red unto his people.

18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest towards Assy∣ria‖ 1.34: and he* 1.35 died in the presence of all his bre∣thrend 1.36.

19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abra∣hams son:* 1.37 Abraham begat Isaac.

20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-arame 1.38: the sister to Laban the Syrian.

21 And Isaac intreated the LORDf 1.39 for his wifeg 1.40, because she was barrenh 1.41: and the LORD was intreated of him, and* 1.42 Rebekah his wife conceived.

22 And the children struggled together with∣in heri 1.43: and she said, If it be so, why am I thusk 1.44? And she went to inquire of the LORDl 1.45.

23 And the LORD said unto herm 1.46, Two na∣tionsn 1.47 are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separatedo 1.48 from thy bowels: and the one people shall be stronger then the other people: and* 1.49 the elderp 1.50 shall serve the younger.

24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

25 And the first came out redq 1.51, * 1.52 all over like an hairy garment: and they called his name Esaur 1.53.

26 And after that came his brother out, and* 1.54 his hand took hold on Esaus heel, and his name was called Jacobs 1.55: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

27 And the boys grew, and Esau was a cunning hunteru 1.56, a man of the fieldx 1.57, and Jacob was† 1.58 a plain many 1.59, dwelling in tentsz 1.60.

28 And Isaac loved Esau, because † 1.61 he did eat of his venison a 1.62: but Rebekah loved Jacob b 1.63.

29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint.

30 And Esau said to Jacob, feed me, I pray thee, † 1.64 with that same red c 1.65 pottage, for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom d 1.66.

31 And Jacob said, sell me this day e 1.67 thy birth∣right f 1.68.

32 And Esau said, Behold, I am † 1.69 at the point to die g 1.70: and what profit shall this birth-right do to me h 1.71?

33 And Jacob said, swear to me this day i 1.72, and he sware unto him, and * 1.73 he sold his birth-right unto Jacob.

34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of Lentiles: and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way k 1.74: thus Esau despised his birth∣right l.
