CHAP. XIV.

1. AND it came to pass in the days of Amra∣phel King of Shinar, Arioch King of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer King of Elam, and Tidal King of * 1.1 Nations a 1.2.

2. That these made War with Bera King b 1.3 of Sodom, and with Birsha King of Gomorrah, Shi∣nab King of Admah, and Shemeber King of Zeboi∣im, and the King of Bela which is * 1.4 Zoar.

3. All these were joyned together in the Vale of Siddim, which is ‖ 1.5 the salt Sea.

4. Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer c 1.6, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

5. And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlao∣mer, and the Kings that were with him d 1.7, and smote the Rephaims e 1.8 in Ashtaroth-Karnaim f 1.9, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims g 1.10, in ‖ 1.11 Shaveh-Kiriathaim h 1.12.

6. And the Horites i 1.13 in the Mount Seir, unto ‖ 1.14 El-paran k 1.15, which is by the wilderness.

7. And they returned and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh l 1.16, and smote all the Countrey of the Amalekites m 1.17, and also the Amorites that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.

8. And there went out the King of Sodom, and the King of Gomorrah, and the King of Ad∣mah, and the King of Zeboim, and the King of Bela (the same is Zoar,) and they joyned Battle with them in the Vale of Siddim.

9. With Chedorlaomer the King of Elam, and with Tidal King of Nations, and Amr•…•…phel King of Shinar, and Arioch King of Ellasar; four Kings with five.

10. And the Vale of Siddim † 1.18 was full of slime∣pits n 1.19: And the Kings of Sodom and Gomorrah o 1.20 fled and fell p 1.21 there: And they that remained, fled to the Mountain.

11. And they took all the goods of Sodom, and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

12 And they took Lot q 1.22, Abrams brothers Son (who dwelt in Sodom) and his Goods, and de∣parted.

13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew r 1.23, for he dwelt in the Plain of Mamre the Amorite, Brother of Eshcol, and Brother of Aner: And these were confederate with Abram s 1.24.

14 And when Abram heard that his Brother was taken Captive; he ‖ 1.25 armed his ‖ 1.26 trained t 1.27 Servants born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan u 1.28.

15 And he divided himself x 1.29 against them, he and his Servants by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hoba, which is on the left hand of Damascus:

16 And he brought back all the goods y 1.30, and also brought again his Brother Lot, and his goods, and the Women also, and the People.

17 And the King of Sodom went out to meet him (after his return from the slaughter of Che∣dorlaomer, and of the Kings that were with him) at the Valley of Shaveh, which is the * 1.31 Kings dale z 1.32.

18 And * 1.33 Melchizedek a 1.34 King of Salem b 1.35 brought forth Bread and Wine c 1.36. And he was the Priest d 1.37 of the most High God e 1.38.

19 * 1.39 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be f 1.40 Abram of the Most High God, possessour of Hea∣ven and Earth.

20 And blessed be the Most High God, which hath delivered thine Enemies into thy hand: And he gave him * 1.41 Tithes g 1.42 of all h 1.43.

21 And the King of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the † 1.44 persons, and take the Goods to thy self.

22 And Abram said to the King of Sodom, I have lift up my hand i 1.45 unto the LORD, the Most High God, the possessour of Heaven and Earth.

23 That I will not take k 1.46 from a thred even to a shoe-latchet ‖ 1.47, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldst say, I have made Abram rich l 1.48.

24 Save onely that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me m 1.49, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre: Let them take their portion.
