Gymnicum Agonem in Eleusine institutum innuunt mutila adhuc Mar∣mora, item obliterato anno, regnante Athenis eodem Pandione. Tem∣plum in Eleusine aedificatum in Eusebiano Chronico legitur anno regni Pan∣dionis tertio, juxta Pontaci Editionem, quinto juxta Scaligeranam. Tam∣etsi vero aliud erant Mysteria Eleusinia, aliud certamina sive Ludicra Eleu∣sinia, videntur tamen fuisse affinia & loco & tempore: quemadmodum O∣lympica Sacrificia & certamina, atque id genus alia. De Olympicis vero lo∣cum insignem exhibent Adversaria nostra è Thucydidis libro 5, & anno Belli Peloponnesiaci duodecimo, his verbis, 〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉.
