Hinc liquet Planetas à Vorticibus corporeis non deferri. Nam Planetae secundum Hypothesin Copernicaeam circa Solem delati re∣volvuntur in Ellipsibus umbilicum habentibus in Sole & radiis ad Solem ductis areas describunt temporibus proportionales. At par∣tes Vorticis tali motu revolvi nequeunt. Designent AD, BE, CF, orbes tres circa Solem S descriptos, quorum extimus CF circulus fit Soli concentricus, & interiorum duorum Aphelia sint A, B, & Perihelia D, E. Ergo corpus quod revolvitur in orbe CF, radio ad Solem ducto areas temporibus proportionales describendo, mo∣vebitur uniformi cum motu. Corpus autem quod revolvitur in Orbe BE, tardiùs movebitur in Aphelio B & velociùs in Perihelio C, secundum leges Astronomicas; cum tamen secundum leges Me∣chanicas ma〈…〉〈…〉ia Vorticis in spatio angustiore inter A & C velociùs

in principio Signi Virginis, ubi Aphelium Martis jam versatur, distantia inter orbes Martis & Veneris est ad distantiam eorun∣dem orbium in principio Signi Piscium ut tria ad duo circiter, & propterea materia Vorticis in∣ter Orbes illos in principio Pisci∣um debet esse velocior quàm in principio Virginis in ratione tri∣um ad duo. Nam quo angusti∣us est spatium per quod eadem Materiae quantitas eodem revo∣lutionis unius tempore transit, eo majori cum velocitate transire debet. Igitur si Terra in hac Materia coelesti relativè quiescens ab ea deferretur, & una circa Solem revolveretur, foret hujus velocitas in principio Piscium ad ejusdem velocitatem in principio Virginis in ratione sesquialtera. Unde Solis motus diurnus apparens in princi∣pio Virginis major esset quàm minutorum primorum septuaginta, & in principio Piscium minor quàm minutorum quadraginta & octo: cum tamen (experientia teste) apparens iste Solis motus ma∣jor sit in principio Piscium quàm in principio Virginis, & propte∣rea Terra velocior in principio Virginis quàm in principio Piscium. Ita{que} Hypothesis Vorticum cum Phaenomenis Astronomicis omni∣nò pugnat, & non tam ad explicandos quàm ad perturbandos motus coelestes conducit. Quomodo verò motus isti in spatiis libe∣ris absque Vorticibus peraguntur intelligi potest ex Libro primo, & in Mundi Systemate pleniùs docebitur.
