Unguentum ad Livorem Faciei, or an Oyntment for the black Bruises of the Face.

Take white Tragacanth half an ounce. Dissolve it in Rose-water to the form of a Liniment, then add Roots of Solomons Seal finely powdered four scruples, Camphire two scruples. Mix them, and make a Lini∣ment.

Virtue and Use. It is by Experience found good for the black and blue spots or marks on the Face or else∣where, caused either by Contusions, Blows, or any other violence, and restores the part to its native and pristine colour, if the part affected be anointed or imeared with it, and so continue using it till it be well.
