Balsamum Odontalgicum, or a Balsam for the Tooth-ach.

Take the Oyls of Origanum, Cloves and Camphire, of each two drams; Opium Spagirically prepared, flowers of Nitre, of each a dram; species Diambrae and red San∣ders, of each half a dram. Mix them, and with the Caput mortuum of exprest Oyl of Nutmegs, or in de∣fect of this, white Wax half an ounce, make a Bal∣sam according to Art.

Virtue and Use. It is effectual in the Tooth-ach of what cause soever, but especially cold. A little Lint or Cotton wet in it, and the Tooth stopped there∣with, doth immediately take away the pain, if the Tooth be hollow. Moreover it kills Worms, and brings away humors plentifully by the Mouth.
