DEsire of pardon of sin is the fruit of pardon of sin. David had been just now told that his sin was forgiven; and now he doth earnestly apply him∣self to beg the forgiveness of it. The Title of the Psalm doth plainly speak for the time and place of it: David nameth one of his sons by Bathsheba, Nathan, after the name of the Prophet, 1 Chron. 3. 5. Zach. 12. 12. And this was that son, of whom Christ descended, Luke 3. 31. and thus David both shewed his belief of the promise that Nathan had told him of, when he brought him good tidings, and his repentance for that sin that Nathan checkt him for, when he brought him bad.
