Mr. Selden's advice for a Declaration against the Duke.

MR. Selden advised, That a Declaration be drawn under four Heads. 1. To express the Houses dutiful carriage towards his Majesty. 2. To tender their Liberties that are vio∣lated. 3. To present what the p••rpose of the House was to have dealt in. 4. That that great person, viz. the Duke, fearing himself to be que∣stioned, did interpose and cause this distraction. All this time (said he) we have cast a Mantle on what was done last Parliament; but now being driven again to look on that man, let us proceed with that which was then well begun, and let the Charge be renewed that was last Parliament a∣gainst him, to which he made an Answer, but the Particulars were sufficient, that we might demand Judgment on that Answer only.
