THat shortly after the obtaining of a Com∣mission dated the 21 of March, in the 8 year of his now Majesties Reign (to wit) the last day of August then next following, he the said Earl (to bring his Majesties Liege People into a dislike of his Majesty and of his Government, and to terrifie the Justices of the Peace from executing of the Laws: he, the said Earl, being then President of the King's Council in the Northern parts of Eng∣land, and a Justice of Peace) did publickly at the Assizes held for the County of York in the City of York, in and upon the said last day of August, declare and publish before the people there attending for the administration of Justice according to the Law, and in the presence of the Justices sitting, That some of the Justices were all for Law, but they should find that the King's little finger should be heavier than the Loyns of the Law.
