[unspec 22] IT is enacted that the liberties of the Church, the great Char∣ter, and the Charter of the Forrest be maintained.

[unspec 23] That no Sherriff, Under-Sherriff, or Escheator do remain in the office above one year.

[unspec 24] The Statute made therefore shall be observed.

That where the Aldermen of London are yearly chosen, and returned at the feast of St. Gregory the Pope, they require that free choice may be made of the most able men, as well of such as were the year before, as of others, and that yearly.

The King granteth thereunto, as long as thereby is good govern∣ment in the City.

[unspec 25] Sundry Countries pray the King to make an allowance to such as have been Sherriffs for such summes as they could not receive, and that provision may be made for all such as shall succeed.

As in times past, the Chancellor and Treasurer may make al∣lowance, and for the rest the King will provide.

[unspec 26] They require that the Statute made against Ravishers, in the 6 th. year of this King, may be revoked.

The Statute shall continue, saving to the King, and other Lords their forfeiture.
