DEliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against mee.

DEliver me O thou my God, from those mine enemies, And do thou me from them defend that up against me rise.

2 Deliver me from the workers of iniqui∣ty, and save me from bloody men.

2 From workers of iniquity do thou deliver me, And do thou me in safety keep from men that bloudy be.

3 For lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.

3 For lo, they for my soul ay wait, the mighty gathered be Against me Lord, not for my fault, nor any sin in me.

4 They run and prepare themselves without my fault▪ awake to help me, and behold.

5 Thou therefore, O Lord God of bosts the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not mercifull to any wicked transgressours. Selah.

6 They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog and go round about the city.

7 Behold they belch out with their mouth, swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?

7 Behold they belch out with their mouth, within their lips are swords, For who is he, this do they say, that heareth these our words▪

8 But thou; O Lord, shall laugh at them, thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

9 Because of his strength will I wait upon thee; for God is my defence.

8 But thou O Lord shalt at them laugh, and scorne all heathen hence. 9 I for his strength will wait on thee for God is my defence.

10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine ene∣mies.

10 He of my mercy that is God shall me prevent anone; God shall let me lee my desire mine enemies upon.

11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scat∣ter them by thy power, and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.

12 For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.

12 For of their mouth the sin, and for words of their mouth not meek, Let them ev'n in their pride be ta'en who cursing lying speak.

13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Iacob, unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

13 In wrath consume them, them consume that so they may not be, That to earths ends the Lord doth rule, in Jacob let them see. Selah.

14 At evening let thou them return, let them a noising sound Make like unto a dog, and go about the city round.

16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning, for thou hast been my defence; and refuge in the day of my trouble.

16 But of thy pow'r yea mercy loud at morning sing I will: For my defence thou and refuge hast been in trouble still.

17 Vnto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

17 O thou who art my strength, I will unto thee sing for this; For God is my defence, and he God of my mercy is.
