O Iust and deare God, shew the light of thy countenance upon thy servants, and let this light give unto us understanding in thy law, that our steps being ordered in thy word, thou maist deliver us from the wrongfull dealings of men, and from the malicious enmities of our Ghostly adversaries, that by their temptations, and our own weaknesse, we may never be brought under the dominion of sinne and wickednesse, that when thy word goeth forth to call to judgement all people, quick and dead, thou maist be merci∣full unto us, and save us, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name. Grant this for the me∣rits and mercies of our dearest Lord and Saviour Iesus Christ. Amen.
