AND God the Lord did give command
To Adam, saying, understand
Of every tree this ground doth bear
Thou may'st eat freely any where.

But of the tree of Knowledge (still)
Knowledge, I say, of Good and Ill,
To eat thereof be not entic'd,
For if thou eat thereof thou dy'st.

This tree, I say, which I so call
Thou shalt not eat of it at all:

To eat thereof, thou sure shalt die.
