2. PART.
Isa▪ 16.18, 19,
Lord, we have been with child in vain, And we have been in grievous pain, and as it were, brought forth the wind: For by our power we have not wrought, The least deliverance can be thought, in all the Earth in any kind. Nor have the dwellers on the earth Fall'n by the powers that we put forth, but by thy strength are under trod. For, Lord, thou wilt ordain, at last, True peace for us, because thou hast wrought all our work in us, O God.
20, 21.
O come, my people, enter thou, Into thy secret chambers now, and shut thy doors about thee fast: And hide thy self now as it were But for a little moment there, untill the wrath be over-past. For loe the Lord comes from his place, To punish this ungodly race for wickedness that they maintain: The Earth shall also now disclose The bloodshed of our barbarous foes, and shall no more conceal her slain.
