IXION, was king of Thessalia, who fals∣ly brake the promyse that he made to his wyues father, and threwe hym into a pyt of fyre. He also callid by Iupiter vnto a feast, styred Iuno to commyt auoutry, whiche Iu∣pyter perceyuynge, he made a cloude lyke vnto Iuno, and delyuered her to hym, on whome he gatte the people callyd Centauri, but whan he aduaunted that he hadde com∣panyed with Iuno, he was dryuen downe in to helle, and there was bounde to a wheele, alway tournynge and fulle of serpentes, as poetes fayned.
