THe fader and moder of seynt Kynede were of ly∣tell Brytayne / but seint Kyned was borne in gre¦at Brytayne in the tyme when kynge Arthur rey¦gned and his lyfe is so full of the meruaylous gre¦te power and goodnes of almyghty god that I leue to wry¦te of it in this lytell kalendre / & refer it to them yt lyste to rede the hole Legend how he was immediatly after his byrthe caste into the water preserued in a lytell crybbe in the great wawes of the see / and was taken vp out of the see by birdes and in his youth dyd souke on a belle that had a lytell thyn∣ge lyke to a tete / which sauoured to hym of dyuers maners as Manna dyd to the children of Israell: and howe he had nat the fylth yt other children naturally haue / & how a man & his wyfe founde hym & brought hym to their house / wher¦fore ye byrdes destroyed their house & their best{is} so yt they we¦re fayne to bere hym agayn / how he was aft fed wt a hynde yt fylled ye sayd bely wt her mylke / & how an aūgell apperyd
