O Holy spirite, powred vppon the Apostles, which hast promised vnto vs by the sonne of God our Redee∣mer, to kindle in vs a true know∣ledge and inuocation of God, as it is written: I will powre vppon you ye spirite of grace & of compassion: make to arise in our heartes a true feare of God, and a true faith and knowledge of thy mercie, which the eternall fa∣ther of our Lorde Iesus Christ hath promised vnto vs for his sonnes sake. Be our comforter in all our counsels and daungers. Illuminate our vn∣derstanding, & fill our heartes with newe affections and spirituall moti∣ons, and renewe vs both in soule and bodie, that we may die to sinne, and liue to righteousnesse, and so in true
