NOble princes concidre the fallas
Of fortunys frowarde flatene
Seeth hir deceytes in many dyuers cas
Howe she first mocked manly amazye
Which slayne was for his surquedye
To yeue you warnynge by exaumple as ye may rede
Whan ye sit highest your fall is moost to drede
And as it remembreth in Bochas
Eke in the byble of kinge Iosye
In his tyme howe famous that he was
Both of riches and of chyualrye
Punysshed with lepre bokes specifie
For his presumynge remembreth this in dede
Whan ye syt highest youre fall is moost to drede
All worldly glory fleeth hens a greate pas
I take witnesse of kinge Sedechie
For f••ls forsweringe he slayne was alas
M••de blynde in prison the story cannat lye
Thus sheweth fortune through her frowarde enuye
To you princes if ye list take hede
Whan ye sit hyghest your fall is moost to drede
