The answer.

We haue one master, that is to saie Christ, him we professe to follow, and of him to learne: others of what godlines or estima∣tion so euer we follow, but so far foorth as they followed Christ. If admiring of men, and addicting mens selues to particular ma∣sters, be the beginning and cause of schismes: Then what can you say for your Austen friers, your Dominicans, your Francis∣cans, your Iesuites, your schoolemen, your Thomists, your Sco∣tists, why they should not go for schismatikes? Haue they not the authors of their their sects in admiration? Haue they not addic∣ted themselues to their particular masters?* 1.1 Haue they not deui∣sed a number of vntruthes to bring their masters into admirati∣on, and estimation? What though there be some kinde of consent amonst them, yet that excuseth them not from being schisma∣tikes, no more then the consent of Pharisies, Sadduces, & other sectaries of the Iewes against Christ, and his truth, did excuse them.
