Shornborn.
Here is an ancient monument in this Church to the memory of one of the Shornborns or Shernburns,* 1.1 but so fouly defaced, as nothing remaines to know the man who lies vnder it, sauing a Vulture splaid, which is the Crest of the Shernborns. Many other Crests and Coate Armes are there also,* 1.2 which I meddle little withall; yet to vse Camdens words, I doe not see how this Church could haue bin omitted, for that Foelix the Burgundian, (Bishop of this Diocesse) who first brought the East-En∣glishmen to the Christian faith, and state of perpetuall felicitie, built in this place, the second Church of Christians in this Country, for the first he founded at Babingley where he landed.
