(9) Eanfled; the wife of this king, was the daughter * 1.1 of Edwin and Ethelburg, king & Queene of Northum∣berland. She was the first Christian that was baptized in that Prouince, and after her fathers death, was brought vp in Kent vnder her mother, and thence maried vnto this Oswy, whom she suruiued, and spent the whole time of her widow-hood in the Monastery of Steanshalch, where her daughter Elfred was Abbesse,* 1.2 wherein she deceased and was interred in the Church of S. Peter, hard by her husband king Edwin.
