By the fiery sword we vnderstand most sharpe and two edged swords which the Angels in the forme of men did shake by the which shaking and swift motion the swords did seem to Adam to glister like fire for more terror lest he should attempt re-entrance there the Angels also haue appeared at other times with swords in their hands as we read Numbers 22. of the Angel that met Balaam: and of that An∣gel that Dauid did obserue with a sword in his hand▪ 1. Chro. 21. 16.
