The Church.

MY welbeloued [to describe his perfect beautie and comli∣nesse vnto you,] is white, and ruddie coloured, the goodliest and chiefest person among ten thousand.

His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are cur∣led, and blacke as a rauen.

His eies are like dooues eies, by the water brookes, [which looke] as though they were washed with milke, and remaine by the fullers vessels, and are set like pearles in gold.

His cheekes are like a garden bed, wherin the Apo∣thecaries plant all maner of sweete spices, flowers, and things.

His lips are like lillies, that drop downe pure and sweet smelling Mirrh.

His hands are like gold rings, set with the Chryso∣lite, or pretious stone of Tharsis.

His bellie is like white Iuorie, deckt or couered ouer with Saphyres.

His legs are as the pillers of marble, set vpon soc∣kets of fine gold.

His face or countenance is as Lebanus, and excel∣lent as the beautie of the Cedar trees.

His mouth, and the words thereof are sweet, and he
