¶ That neuer no brennynge of flesshely heteAssayle might thyne holy tabernacleWith dewe of grace / thy closette was so sweteFulfilled with vertue / onely by myracleGod chase thy wombe for his tabernacleAnd halowed it so clene in euery coosteTo make it sacrarie / for his owne ghooste.

Fourty dayes that she shulde be vncleneAnd kepe her close / ••that no man shulde her seneAnd after that she shulde her offryngeIn lawe expressed / to the Temple brynge.
¶ But taketh thede in conclusionHowe this lawe lyke as ye shall fyndeNe was nat put / but by condicionOnely to them that corupt weren by kyndeThrough touche of man / of suche is made myndeThe dayes nombred of her purgacionTo come and make her oblacion.
¶ And brynge a lambe / the whiche in sacrefiseShulde all be brought in the holy placeAnd a pygeon / as lawe doth deuiseShe shulde eke offre / as for her trespaceAnd than all fylthe from her to enchaceShe of the preste halowed & sacrefiedRetorneth home / and fully purifyed.

¶ For nature withouten any stryfeRepugnaunce / or any resistenceGaue this maybe prerogatyfeAs mother to haue experienceOnely of chyldynge / & fele none offenceNether of sekenes / ne of suche maner woIn trauelynge as other women do.
